It seems nobody has informed the many ISIS franchises throughout the region and beyond that the virulent global terrorist network has been destroyed as some Western leaders have suggested. One case-in-point is the group that calls itself Sinai Province, operating in the Sinai Peninsula and primarily targeting Egypt. The group used social media to proclaim its allegiance to the successor to slain leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who triggered his explosive vest while being chased by U.S. forces. Members of the American administration, including the President and Vice President, have pronounced the final demise of ISIS, despite the certainty that its proxy groups are still active. The ISIS-loyal fighters have taken responsibility for a number of recent attacks in several countries.
