A Syrian army officer and Lebanese media are accusing Israel of responsibility for two air strikes on Wednesday: one which killed three passengers riding in a vehicle on the Syrian Golan Heights near the city of Quneitra; and the other against a base in Lebanon’s Bekka Valley belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine where six injuries were reported after the alleged drone strike. Lebanese media identified the trio killed near the village of Hader as members of the Syrian National Defense Committees, an armed group loyal to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad. According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights which closely monitors the Syrian civil war, the strike killed the SNDC operatives and two Hizbullah fighters. But Hizbullah-aligned media denied Israel was responsible saying instead that the blast in an arms depot resulted from an errant rocket fired inside of Syria in the course of the fighting there.
