Israel Attacks Damascus Suburbs, Hits Syrian Army Outposts

The Israel Air Force lit up the skies over suburban Damascus in the early morning hours of Wednesday as its jets attacked Syrian army positions. According to rebel spokesmen, the Israeli fighter jets circled over Lebanese territory for a half-hour at 3 am before swooping down on the Syrian positions. Sources in Lebanon expressed the belief that the targets included fighting units of Hizbullah, the Lebanon-based, Iranian terror proxy that has been fighting alongside troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad. Outposts manned by the Syrian army’s 3rd division were hit by missiles and mountain-based weapons storage areas were destroyed. One report indicated that the Israeli jets attacked and destroyed a weapons convoy.
