Israel Blamed for Killing in Malaysia of Palestinian Engineer

An electrical engineer associated with Hamas and Islamic Jihad was gunned down by assailants on a motorcycle Saturday morning in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. Dr. Fadi Al-Batsh, 35, who taught at Kuala Lampur University’s British Malaysian Institute, was identified on social media as a member of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, but later on Hamas claimed Al-Batsh as one of its members. Accusations that Israel’s Mossad, its famed spy agency, was responsible for the hit were appearing on-line before the end of the day. According to local police, the team of shooters was seen on surveillance videos waiting some 20-minutes for their victim to arrive before unloading ten shots and speeding away on a high-powered BMW motorcycle. Police sources also raised the possibility that ISIS was responsible for the killing, but such determinations await the investigation. When Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi spoke to reporters, he raised the possibility that the hit-men were tied to a European intelligence agency. But those who believe Israel was behind the killing look to media reports indicating Al-Batsh was a key link in Hamas drone and missile development.
