Israel Experiences Another Sex Scandal Involving a Public Figure

Israelis are watching yet another sex scandal involving a public figure unfold as the candidate to head the national police force has been accused of sex crimes by two women, one of whom claims he drugged and raped her. Uri Bar Lev, who currently serves as police attaché at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, has admitted having a sexual liaison with the woman, but denies anything untoward took place. His version of events has been refuted by a friend of the woman who set up the liaison with the accused and who was present during the tryst. A second woman claims he sexually assaulted her during a convention in the resort town of Eilat several years ago.
