Israel, Hamas Sparring Heats Up; Palestinian Commander’s Vehicle Hit

The sparring between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip shows no sign of easing up after the Israeli army hit a vehicle belonging to the Hamas commander in the Neuseirat refugee camp and Hamas fired more than a dozen rockets in return. The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system targets hostile rounds with the potential of reaching populated areas or causing casualties and allows others to fall into open areas. Out of the 13 rockets fired on Tuesday, only three triggered the Iron Dome; and no injuries were reported. The Israeli army reported that it bombed a Hamas vehicle belonging to a terror cell that was responsible for using incendiary balloons, scoring hits with a tank and jet fighter. Despite the total destruction of the vehicle, the driver was able to escape and no injuries were reported. The Palestinian campaign using incendiary balloons and kites has proven successful, stymieing Israel’s defenders who have seen thousands of acres of agricultural land go up in flames. In one incident, hundreds of turkeys were asphyxiated by a fire the ignited near the coop.
