Israel Wants Nuclear Exemption Like India’s

The Associated Press has obtained documents that show Israel is trying to get an exemption to rules under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty so it can legally import nuclear materials from the nations collectively known as the "Nuclear Suppliers Group." The NSG is comprised of 45 nations that export nuclear fuel and technology under rules promulgated by the watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency. Israel is said to want a deal like the one India signed with the United States. Like Israel, India is not a signatory to the non-proliferation treaty. The U.S. has made clear that it will not give Israel the same special treatment it has given to India.
