The Israeli army, viewed by many military experts as the mainstay of the Jewish state being deemed to be the Middle East’s superpower, has launched a futuristic unit that combines intelligence, infantry, armored corps and classified hi-tech applications designed to allow IDF soldiers to operate from deep behind enemy lines. An army spokesman told reporters that the unit is capable of tracking down, attacking and destroying enemy targets. The new unit is the first project of new Chief-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi. The unit is being touted by the Israelis as a first of its kind world-wide.
