The controversial Palestinian Authority policy of paying stipends to families of terrorists who died while carrying out acts of violence against Israelis has proven to be more expensive than previously realized. Previously, the PA was named as the responsible party when its own agents carried out the assaults. But the Jerusalem District Court has now ruled that cases dating back to the year 2000 are the responsibility of the PA because of its embrace of those who perpetrated the attacks. The 17 cases could cost the PA some $280 million. In previous court appearances the PA has argued that if it is forced to pay the full amount it will cause its financial collapse.
