Israeli-Designed Prosthetic Fins Saves Turtle

Hofesh, a large green sea turtle, was caught in a fishing net off the coast of Israel in 2009. His two left fins were badly injured and had to be amputated, which made it difficult for him to swim. An industrial design student in Jerusalem designed a prosthetic device based on Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptor warplane which allows him to swim easily. Sea turtles are an endangered species in Israel.
