Israeli Diplomat Pays Secret Visit to Unnamed Muslim African Nation with No Relations with the Jewish State

Apparently determined to dispel charges of growing Israeli isolationism while capitalizing on changing dynamics in the Muslim world fueled by the global fight against terror, Israel’s Foreign Ministry Director General Dore Gold paid a secret visit to an unnamed Muslim African nation that has no relations with Israel. Gold made the visit under cover of a stop in Guinea’s capital Conkary. He reportedly flew on in a private jet to avoid being spotted. The visit to Guinea, where he met with the president and repaired diplomatic damage dating back to the 1967 war when relations were severed, was also kept secret until it was over for security reasons. In a previous trip, Gold visited Chad, another African country with no relations with Israel.
