Israeli parliamentarians from across the political spectrum launched a Jewish-Muslim ties caucus to promote relations between Judaism and Islam. The intiative is led by MK Zouheir Bahloul, a Muslim, from the Zionist Union and Yehuda Glick from Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s Likud party. Glick, an American-born rabbi, narrowly survived a Muslim assassination attempt in 2014. He has long campaigned for more Jewish access to a holy site in Jerusalem that Jews call the Temple Mount and Muslims, the Haram al- Sharif. The new caucus began with a study session on the value of life in Judaism and Islam.
