An Israeli court has sentenced 32-year-old Asher Weissgan to four consecutive life terms. Weissgan, a right-wing Israeli, was convicted of shooting four Palestinians to death in the community of Shiloh on the day that the Israeli government began to forcibly remove Jewish residents from communities in the Gaza Strip in August 2005. The government maintained that Weissgan’s motive was to prevent the withdrawal from taking place.
