The Palestinian minister of Jerusalem affairs has been arrested by Israel’s border police. A spokesman said Fadi al-Hadami was taken into custody charged with conducting political activity in east Jerusalem, which is forbidden to the Palestinian Authority. The holder of a second post, governor of Jerusalem, which is an appointment by the PA, is also being sought for the same reasons. The Palestinians are claiming that the Israelis are using allegations of political activity when in reality the targeted activities are social and cultural.
