Riding the crest of the burgeoning worldwide interest in cannabis, Israel’s Hebrew University is staking out its self-proclaimed role as the leader in cannabis research with a focus on commercial applications. The university has announced the creation of the Multidisciplinary Center on Cannabinoid Research, touting what it claims is the broadest approach to research in the field. Assembling the field’s leading scientists – 27 at its inception — the Hebrew University facility will address agriculture, chemistry, drug delivery, pharmacology and chemical development.
