Israelis awoke to a new scandal on Thursday that has captured the nation’s attention although few facts are known due to a gag order on the case. What has been revealed is that a senior figure in the nation’s justice infrastructure is being accused of demanding sexual favors in return for his appointing a particular female attorney to a magistrate position. The daily Haaretz is reporting that the case broke two weeks ago and an arrest was made on Wednesday.
