“Israel’s MIT” Beats Out the Real MIT – and Every Other University – in Digital Training

Israel’s Technion, the Israel Institute for Technology, is commonly referred to as “Israel’s MIT.” It has now outplaced the real MIT – the one in Massachusetts – and every other university, winning this year’s designation by Times Higher Education as the college best preparing its graduates for the digital workplace. London’s University College placed second and South Korea’s KAIST third while MIT itself took sixth place. Interestingly, while great attention is being paid to students’ preparation for entry into the emerging digital world, in the category of preparing students for the job market Technion placed only 113th. According to the survey’s results, Technion far outdistances its home state of Israel in digital skills. Israel didn’t make the top ten in nations regarding its digital skills.
