Israel’s Reality Cooking Shows Entry Ends with German, Arab and Haredi Winners

Israel’s hugely popular entry into the phenomenon of reality cooking shows ended its season with the nation’s most widely-watched program featuring a veritable microcosm of society. The top three finalists in the British-based program’s Israeli concession were the ultimate winner, a German immigrant; the first runner-up, an Israeli Arab woman; and a women who belongs to the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox Jewish) community. Almost 47 per cent of Israel’s Jewish population watched the broadcast of the season finale that saw Tom Franz walk-off with the title of “MasterChef.”
