The Lebanese newspaper Al Nahar reported on Saturday that German sources have indicated that one of the two captured Israeli soldiers is no longer alive. German diplomats have been the intermediaries between Israel and Hizbullah; and Al Nahar is considered to be allied with Hizbullah, giving the report credence. The official negotiations concerning the Israelis are being handled by the United Nations, but as with past Israel-Hizbullah contacts, the Germans are involved.
