A Saudi royal offered to top up a $100,000 reward for anyone kidnapping an Israeli soldier with a $900,000 bonus. Prince Khaled bin Talal, the brother of business tycoon Walid bin Talal, told the Saudi-based broadcaster Al-Daleel he was inspired by the Saudi cleric Awad Al-Qarni’s offer to put $100,000 on the head of every Israeli soldier. “My offer also comes in response to the threats made against Sheikh al-Qarni,” Khaled told the broadcaster, apparently in reference to the death threats that Al-Qarni’s statement on Facebook elicited. The bounty comes after Israel swapped 1,027 Palestinian prisoners with the Palestinian Hamas movement in exchange for kidnapped hostage Gilad Shalit.
