Monitor says US Air Strikes Killed 15,000 ISIS Fighters and 459 Civilians

An independent monitoring organization that tracks the air strikes carried out by the US-led coalition in Syria, says during the past year that while some 15,000 Islamic State (ISIS) fighters have been killed by coalition bombs, 459 civilians also died. The report by Airwars also claimed that 48 deaths were by “friendly fire.” Until now, the US military has not commented on civilian deaths or friendly fire incidents, a policy the group says “makes little sense and risks handing ISIS a powerful propaganda tool” because civilian casualties are made public by ISIS within a day of the incidents “with graphic images of the victims.” There are four known ongoing investigations into civilian deaths being carried out by the American military.
