In a slightly veiled allusion to Iran and Hizbullah, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has warned that he “will not tolerate those who try to tamper with Egypt’s security and stability.” Mubarak recently charged that Iran and Hizbullah were planning attacks inside of Egypt after the arrests of 49 people who were accused of being aligned with Hizbullah. Hizbullah chief Sheikh Hasan Sayyad Na’srallah later admitted sending a single operative to Egypt to coordinate the smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip to be used against Israel.
