A respite from fighting that lasted several hours on Wednesday provided an opportunity for fresh supplies to reach the beleaguered residents of the Nahr Al-Bared refugee camp in Tripoli. A truce that was called for that purpose lasted from mid-morning until 6 p.m., according the Beirut Daily Star newspaper. At that time, fighting resumed gradually, beginning with sniper fire and escalating ito the use of "medium and heavy weapons." The Lebanese Broadcasting Company reports that the Fatah Al-Islam fighters holed up inside the camp are being given weapons, ammunition and supplies by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command [PFLP-GC]. The PFLP-GC has also allowed Fatah Al-Islam to use its bases located inside Nahr Al-Bared.
