Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told a Japanese newspaper that Iran shares whatever technology it acquires with North Korea. Netanyahu, who is on a visit to Japan, has made the Iranian issue the focus of his visit. One of Japan’s major security concerns is North Korea’s nuclear program. Netanyahu called both Iran and North Korea “rogue states.” His comments come as the international community is holding talks with Iran to try to reach an agreement on curbing Iran’s nuclear program, which Iran insists is only for peaceful purposes. Israel is convinced that Iran is trying to develop a nuclear weapon. The agreement currently under discussion would see Iran drastically reduce its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions on oil export being lifted. Netanyahu continues to advocate that lifting sanctions would be a mistake, and simply give Iran more money to develop its nuclear bomb.
