Netanyahu Rushed Off Stage Due to Gaza Rocket Fire – Again

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was rushed off stage during a campaign event in Ashkelon when a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip toward the southern coastal city. While the projectile was intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system, sirens were set off in populated areas near the Gaza border. In September, the prime minister was evacuated from an event in nearby Ashdod due its targeting by terrorists. In response, the Israel Defense Forces struck multiple Hamas assets and reiterated in a statement that Jerusalem holds the terror group “responsible for everything occurring in and out of the Gaza Strip and it will bear the consequences for actions against Israeli citizens.” According to Palestinian media, one of the leaders of Iranian proxy Islamic Jihad ordered Wednesday night’s attack. “He who fired now better start packing his belongings,” Netanyahu asserted after returning to the podium to finish his address. In this respect, Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed Thursday that the Jewish state had resumed its policy of targeted assassinations.
