A new bill submitted to the Israeli parliament on Wednesday seeks to provide the security echelon with tools it needs to fight terrorism. At the same time, it will allow new action against rock throwers and those who demonstrate violently in the streets. The bill, which was initiated by Prime Minister Netanyahu, will allow the deportation of terrorists after serving their prison sentences; deny funerals to those killed while participating in terrorist attacks; allow for the destruction of homes of terrorists within 24 hours; allow for the arrest of those waving “enemy flags” during violent demonstrations; allow for custody with no release for those who throw fireworks or explosives during demonstrations; allow for the deportation of families of terrorists to the Gaza Strip if they support their relative’s deeds. Despite the criticism Israel is coming under for its responses to the growing fear of Arab workers by the Jewish public, the new bill would allow police to tell business owners if there employees have ever been arrested for security violations and allow their firing. The bill comes after a month of terrorist attacks that left 11 Israelis dead while security forces killed 5 Palestinians perpetrating the acts.
