New Sanctions Imposed on Iran by United States and the Gulf States

Six Gulf states joined the United States in slapping a new set of sanctions on Iranians and institutions that have helped terrorist organizations. The group added its own sanctions to those American-based restrictions already in place. According to the Reuters news agency, one of the targeted entities works as a subcontractor in the terror business for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The Basij Revolutionary Force is known, among other things, for attacking demonstrators at anti-government protests, recruits members to its ranks, and engages in torture.
