Despite the vast areas of the country reduced to rubble during three years of civil war; and despite the deaths of about 150,000 citizens and the displacement of 2 million others, a new commercial airline – Kinda Airlines — is set to begin flying out of Damascus and Latakia. Two aircraft – a Boeing 737-400 and an Airbus 320 have been registered by the carrier, which lists the UAE, Kuwait and Iraq as its destinations, with Jordan and Lebanon set to follow.
