There were no casualties when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden truck at the Erez crossing point between Israel and the Gaza Strip on Thursday, but Islamic Jihad, the group claiming responsibility for the attack, is still claiming a victory over Israel as the result of that attack. Israel’s army announced that it would remove all its non-combat personnel from the crossing. In response, an Islamic Jihad spokesman said: "The Zionist enemy gradually admits what happened… this is a new victory for the resistance." The group called the bomb attack retaliation for Israel’s partial blockade of the Gaza Strip.
