United States President Barack Obama’s speech at Cairo University on Thursday will emphasize his “personal commitment” to the Muslim world, according to spokesman Robert Gibbs. Previewing the much-anticipated address, Gibbs told reporters that the president would not duck the “tough issues,” promising that Obama would “review particular issues of concern, such as violent extremism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and that he would discuss new areas for partnership going forward that serve the mutual interests of our people." On the way to Cairo, Obama will stop off in Riyadh for a meeting with Saudi King Abdullah. Following Cairo, the president will fly to Germany for talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel in Dresden and a visit to the Nazi death camp, Buchenwald.
