A package addressed to Israel’s Foreign Ministry caused a panic when spotted at Beirut’s international airport on Wednesday according to the local Daily Star. The package originated at the Israeli Embassy in Cyprus and was bound for Tel Aviv via Cypress Airways, which apparently misdirected the cargo, whose final destination was marked “Jerusalem.” According to the newspaper, the Cypriot ambassador sent someone to retrieve the package, but Lebanese officials refused to hand it over. The Cypriots are now believed to be in possession of the package and are sending it on to Israel.
