The Palestinian Authority will lodge a complaint with the United Nations for what it says is the denial by the Trump administration of visas for six “experts” seeking to go to New York to participate in a presentation by the Palestinian mission to the U.N. The six were not denied visas, but rather denied permission to travel to the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem from Ramallah “to check on the status of their visa requests.” It was not clear whether the visa applications had been submitted or the request to enter Jerusalem was in order to begin the process. In any case, the six were not present in New York when Palestinian Ambassador to the U.N. Riyad Monsour led the presentation, beginning his contribution with a complaint about the Trump administration for refusing visas for the experts.
