A spokesman for the Palestinian Resistance Committee, an umbrella organization comprised of disgruntled members of a number of terrorist groups, held a news conference on Saturday and issued a public threat against Palestinian prime minister Salam Faya’d and other members of the government. Abu Abir labeled Faya’d and the government "traitors" supporting American policies and "collaborating" with Israel. He expressed support for Is’mail Haniyya, the deposed Hamas leader who served as prime minister until the government was disbanded by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud ‘Abbas. Referring to Faya’d and his ministers as the "Ramallah traitors," Abir said they would be treated by the PRC as they treat "the Israeli occupation."
