A senior Palestinian official said on Sunday that the Iranian nuclear deal instills a greater sense of confidence in international diplomacy that trickles over to the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. Nabil Abu Rudeina, spokesman for Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas, told the Ma’an news agency that based on “the success of international efforts to solve the Iranian issue,” the Mideast Quartet (US; United Nations; European Union; Russia) should be called upon to intervene in the Israeli-Palestinian track as well. Israeli leaders have denounced the Western powers pact with Tehran as a “bad deal.”
