A Palestinian stabbed a 19-year-old Israeli in the neck and severely wounded him at a junction near the West Bank city of Hebron. Security forces shot and killed the terrorist. On Sunday Palestinian attackers wounded two Israelis in two separate attacks, one in the Gush Etztion region of the West Bank near Bethlehem and the other near the city of Ariel in the center of the West Bank. In a third incident, Israeli border police killed a 17-year-old Palestinian who came at them with a knife near the entrance to the Ibrahimi mosque, part of a site that is holy to both Jews and Muslims as the burial tomb of Abraham. The incidents show that the wave of violent Palestinian attacks is continuing, and that it now seems to be focused on the West Bank. Israeli officials say the Palestinian security forces are working to stop the attacks, but say they need to do more. Israel has arrested dozens of Palestinians suspected of planning or carrying out attacks in the past month. The Palestinian security forces, however, have not made many arrests, and Palestinian security officials say it is difficult to arrest Palestinians when almost 50 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in the past month. About half of them have been killed while attacking Israelis and the rest in clashes with Israeli security forces. Palestinian attackers have killed ten Israelis in dozens of stabbing and shooting attacks.
