Yedaya and Hadassah Sharchaton, with their infant daughter, were driving through a Palestinian village on their way from her parents home in Jerusalem to a Jewish community built on land that Israel acquired in 1967, when their car came under a hail of stones. The car flipped over, and Yedaya was severely wounded. A group of Palestinians came toward the car, and Hadassah told the Yediot Aharonot newspaper that she feared they would be murdered. Instead, the Palestinians helped them, taking their baby carefully out of her car seat, and helping to free Hadassah, who works as a nurse. Yedaya remains in serious condition.
