Palestinians Warn Trump against Moving US Embassy to Jerusalem

Although it remains to be seen whether President-elect Donald Trump will be true to his campaign promise to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem or join his predecessors who notoriously reneged on the promise to do so, the Palestinians are taking no chances and are making it clear that the move comes with repercussions. In New York, Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour said on Saturday that, “If they do that nobody should blame us for unleashing all of the weapons that we have in the UN to defend ourselves, and we have a lot of weapons in the UN.” Mentioned as “weapons” are forcing the US to veto a Security Council resolution approving Palestinian membership to the UN – something already rejected by the Council – and bringing the issue of Israeli building on post-1967 lands.
