A line of police recruits standing outside a recruitment center in Jalawlah, Diyala province, was the target of a suicide bomber on Monday. Twenty-five were killed outright and another 40 wounded when the explosives went off. It was the latest in a series of attacks carried out recently by Sunnis in Diyala. The bomber pulled up to the recruitment center in a car that was stopped by police. But the bomber bolted from the vehicle and detonated his explosive vest when he reached the line of would-be recruits.
