Police in Israel have announced that the expected announcement concerning thee criminal investigations of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will be delayed until after the summit at Annapolis, which begins on Tuesday. The police were to have revealed whether or not a recommendation to proceed to indictment would be made on Sunday, only hours before Olmert was due to leave for the United States. Israel Radio said unnamed officials argued that the police announcement on the eve of the Annapolis summit would not be in the national interest.
