If the people of the Gaza Strip had their way, Hamas would agree to a ceasefire with Israel according to a new poll that was taken by door-to-door researchers. The survey carried out by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion found that 87.6% of Gaza’s residents support entering a long-term truce with Israel but 93% are strongly opposed to agreeing to the Israeli demand that Gaza be demilitarized. Asked about the Egyptian performance as mediator of the Hamas-Israel talks, 46% were satisfied, while 33.4% were not at all satisfied. Reacting to statements by Israeli officials who equate Hamas with ISIS, 85% rejected the analogy saying they oppose ISIS.
