The Media Line President Bush Arrives in Middle East for 8-Day Visit

U.S. President George W. Bush arrives in Israel on Wednesday for the start of an eight-day tour of the Middle East. Following a welcome ceremony at Israel‘s Ben Gurion airport, the President plunges right into talks with Israeli leaders concerning Israel‘s security needs and the status of talks with the Palestinians. The Israelis will try to persuade the President that the American National Intelligence Estimate suggesting that Iran abandoned plans for nuclear weapons in 2003 is erroneous. On Thursday, President Bush will travel to the Palestinian territories for talks with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud ‘Abbas and members of his government.
