Six former heads of Israel’s famed Mossad intelligence service have questioned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s competence. Against the backdrop of multiple investigations into misbehavior alleged against the premier, the former intel-wonks argued that Netanyahu has brought the nation to the medical equivalent of critical condition. Their views appeared in a front-page interview published in Yediot Aharonot, one of the leading Israeli newspapers. The recurring theme was that Netanyahu has placed his own interests above those of the state. The police fraud squad has already recommended that Netanyahu be indicted while investigations into other cases continues. The interviewees all agreed that on the diplomatic front the incumbent is leading the nation to disaster while obviating any chance of reaching an agreement with the Palestinians.
