Only five days remain for prime minister-designate of the Palestinian Authority Mohammed Shtyyeh to name his cabinet. By April 14, appointees will be named, none of whom will be members of Hamas or the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine: the former being banned by Fatah and latter refusing to join a government without Hamas. Names and positions are expected to be set at a meeting in Ramallah on Monday evening. Nothing has changed in the matter of reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas which is the primary obstacle to national elections and a huge impediment to Palestinian desires for statehood.
