Protest against Iran Nuclear Deal Held in Tehran

Far from Capitol Hill, Congressional hearings and rallies in American cities, dozens of protestors took to the streets of Tehran on Tuesday to urge the government to reject the nuclear deal negotiated with the western powers. Described by media as “hard line students,” demonstrators lined up outside the parliament building to protest the “US intrusion in Iran” and accuse the “weak parliament” of being in collusion with the government in allowing “the American Trojan horse to infiltrate Iran.” The subtext of the protest was the arrest of student demonstrators outside the British embassy in Tehran on Sunday during ceremonies marking its re-opening. Iranian leaders have recently cautioned that there is no guarantee the nuclear deal will be approved by the Iranian cabinet.
