Palestinian Qassam rockets are continuing to land inside Israel despite the increase in Israeli air strikes and targeted assassinations of those believed to be planning and carrying out the rocket attacks. Early Sunday morning one of three Qassams fired from the Gaza Strip wounded two Israelis in Sderot a short time after another rocket scored a direct hit on a house. One of the two men died of his wounds. The Israeli air force carried out at least a dozen sorties in both the northern and southern Gaza Strip late Saturday night. Hamas is calling for stepped-up attacks against Israeli targets after Israeli air raids over the weekend left seven of its members dead. It also warned Israel that its continued air attacks were jeopardizing the welfare of Cpl. Gilad Shalit, the soldier captured last June whose return Israel is demanding.
