Report from Aleppo: All Hospitals Shut Down by Fighting; Monitor says “Almost”

The health directorate of Aleppo has sent a letter to the Reuters news agency saying the ongoing fighting in and around the Syrian city has forced the closure of all hospitals. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the London-based watchdog that closely follows and reports all developments in the Syria civil war, however, says that while some hospitals are still open, citizens needing their services are too scared to venture out in order to seek medical treatment. By either assessment, Syrians in Aleppo are dying due to the lack of emergency health care. The massive aerial bombardments are believed to be carried out by the Syrian and Russian air forces, although Moscow is claiming that its planes are operating only in other areas and not the parts of Aleppo where the hospitals are located.
