According to Arab media, Israel Air Force drones struck a base belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) located in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley. The alleged rare move by Israel comes two days after Beirut accused Jerusalem of violating Lebanese sovereignty by flying unmanned aerial vehicles into the country, which reportedly crashed in the capital. Analysts believe that those drones were the same ones used to foil an Iranian plot to attack Israel from Syria. Thereafter, Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah warned that, “the time Israeli war jets used to strike targets in Lebanon while the usurping entity in Palestine kept safe has ended.… I tell the Israeli army on the border: wait for our response, which may take place at any time.…” It remains unclear why the Israeli military targeted the PFLP, which is designated by the US as a terrorist organization.
