According to a report by Israel’s Channel 12, the Mossad spy agency provided Denmark with intelligence that helped foil a wave of terrorist attacks in the country. Last week, Danish security forces arrested more than 20 suspects who were apparently involved in the planning. The Israeli report further claimed that over the past two years, the Mossad had contributed to thwarting at least 50 terrorist attacks worldwide. Over the summer, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu revealed one specific incident in which Jerusalem purportedly shared information that prevented Islamic State from planting a bomb on an Etihad Airways flight from Sydney to Abu Dhabi. Notably, in October of last year, Copenhagen blocked an alleged attempt by Iran to target members of an opposition group on Danish soil. That came just days after France sanctioned Tehran’s director-general of intelligence on accusations that he had masterminded a foiled terrorist attack against dissidents meeting near Paris. Reports at the time suggested that Israel had provided the two European nations with intelligence related to the attacks.
