Researchers Claim “Jewish Gene” Found

Researchers have given hope to thousands of people who claim but cannot prove their Jewishness to the satisfaction of rabbinic courts. It has been reported that a simple saliva test can prove the existence of a mitochondrial gene. And once it’s found, it’s a considerable portion of what one needs in order to prove that he/she is Jewish. The researchers are presently preparing an article to provide the Israeli Chief Rabbinate with the information it needs to formally accept the science. The repercussions could be huge, proving the Jewishness of hundreds of thousands of people who claim Jewish origins from Europe and from families traced back to the Spanish Inquisition.
