U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will meet with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud ‘Abbas on Thusday, presumably in Ramallah. Rice is attending an economic conference on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea. There has been no announcement of plans for Rice to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, but speculation is growing that such a meeting could take place if Rice feels it would push ahead the momentum that began with a cease-fire between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip on Sunday.
